Brad Pitt Gets His Furniture Groove on

We went to the Architectural Digest introduction of Brad Pitt’s new furniture collection last night. Some pieces are good, but this table is outstanding:

And it’s huge. There an no good photos, but it’s one 12-foot-long flitch of wood. Just beautiful And I like the jazzy legs. Like a Keith Haring piece of art. There was also a big armchair covered in white patent leather, which was very comfortable:

Where’re You Going? Barcelona (and Toledo and Madrid)

People often ask me what are my inspirations for designs. The answer is that, as a designer, you’re constantly inspired by just about everything you see at any time of the day or night.  Decorative and architectural details on buildings; fashions in shop windows, patterns on railings and ironwork; pieces of jewelry; ornamental tiles—the list is endless. There is inspiration on walls, floors, and ceilings – you have to look all around.
On a recent trip to Spain, I took some snapshots of details and patterns that caught my eye. I thought I’d share them.
