This is an apartment of an actress and her husband located in a McKim, Mead, and White building from the 1910’s. The client wanted a dramatic, traditional, glamorous, and slightly Bohemian look. The apartment color palette includes lavender, grayed plum, Blush pink, and minty green. She calls it her “box of marzipan”.
The furniture is a combination of custom-made new pieces mixed with fine French 1940s antiques along with some flea market finds. There is also a mix of colorful and whimsical art from France and the client’s family. Chandeliers add sparkle and serve as the jewelry for the space.
